Mein Textverarbeitungsprogramm kennt das Wort "investigativ" nicht und markiert es deshalb immer als Rechtschreibfehler. Ich finde das bezeichnend. Die wenigsten Journalisten arbeiten investigativ - und Microsoft weiß das. Der Begriff ist offenbar so selten wirklich angemessen, dass er grundsätzlich erst einmal als Fehler angesehen wird.
